What does ikigai charge?

Ikigai charges a simple monthly membership fee of £10 to use our services. You can find a full overview of our current charges on our pricing page https://ikigai.money/pricing

Your first 31 days with ikigai is free, after which you will automatically pay £10 using the card you added when you signed up. You can cancel your membership at any time by sending us a message via Chat in the app or emailing us at help@ikigai.money.

What happens if I cancel my membership?

If you cancel your membership or we are unable to process your monthly payment, you will no longer have full use of your ikigai app, but you will still be able to transfer your money to another UK bank account. If you have investments with ikigai, we may liquidate these investments 30 days after your membership fee is overdue, so you can transfer the money to another UK bank account.

What do I pay beyond £10 per month to ikigai?

While ikigai does not charge anything beyond your subscription, you should be aware of the following charges from other providers while using ikigai:

  • 1. Transactions in a foreign currency:

a. Card transactions: Foreign currency card transactions will be converted at the Visa exchange rate with no markup from ikigai, commission-free

b. Bank transfers: When sending money abroad, you will receive the exchange rate of our low-cost currency partner, which you can check in the app before making the payment. The receiving bank may charge a fee, so it’s best to check with them before making the payment to avoid any surprises
Ikigai is great for traveling or sending money abroad and we always strive to provide you access to the lowest fees we can.

  • 2. Investment costs

a. Product fees: Our Investment portfolios carry costs that are directly charged by the various ETF providers upon purchasing their instruments, and are typically 0.01-0.03% of the amount invested, per month.

b. Custody fees: We have partnered with WealthKernel to provide custody of your investment account, which will charge 0.0125% of the invested amount, per month.

For example, if you invest £10,000, approximately your product fee will be £2.50 and your custody fees £1.25.
